Borough & County Councillor ~ July / August update.
June started with the Jubilee celebrations and what a fantastic weekend that was! It was great to be at the Rearsby Jubilee Celebrations along with my family and some friends we had staying with us, we very much enjoyed the cakes on sale in the village hall (and maybe that’s why Parish Council Vice-Chairman Anthea Byrne tried to persuade me to take part in some of the races on the playing field!). Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to organise the event and make it such a success.
Parish Council Chairman’s Note for July 2022
What a wonderful month June was, with all the Jubilee celebrations, Picnic on the Park, Street Parties, Church Services and the Schools special painting exhibition in the Church.
Now July is here, with long school holidays, breaks in the sun or just chilling at home, whatever you are doing enjoy every minute.

Borough & County Council update June 2022
Charnwood Borough Council is appealing for projects to come forward to bid for a slice of a £4 million fund which aims to help the area level-up. The Council has been allocated the money under the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and is developing the Future Charnwood Investment Plan.
St Michaels & All Angels Church
The 5th June 2022 saw the Church celebrate Pentecost and Her Majesty’s Jubilee, followed in the afternoon with the tea and biscuits served to those visiting to view the marvellous pictures and paintings produced by the local school children.
Next Sunday 12th June a special service will be held to include the celebration of Reverend David Cherry’s 50th Anniversary of his Ordination. (please note this starts at 10.00am).
Rearsby Village Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Picnic in the Park
What a fabulous celebration at the Picnic in the Park on Village Hall Playing Field, on Saturday 4 June 2022.
The weather stayed kind most of the afternoon and support from villagers, families and friends was wonderful.
The Parade of Children’s Crowns and children’s & adults’ Fancy Dress saw a selection of designs and went down very well with the children and adults alike.
There were a number of Fun Races and Games including 3 legged races, sack race, egg and spoon and the Queen dress-up race to mention just a few.
To cap it off there were some excellent refreshments (especially the cakes) in the village hall and of course the Ice Cream Van too!
We would like to say a massive thank you to all those involved in organising the day and those who contributed on the day too.
The village truly came together to celebrate this historic event and it is hoped to continue with more in the future, we understand that over £400 was raised for charity on the day.
